Glenuig Shop 2010
This is an observational film set in an old community-run village shop in the Highlands of Scotland. Filmed over a week, the role the shop plays in this remote community becomes apparent. The community are currently applying for funding to bulldozer the shop and build a new and better one in its place. This is vital for the future of the community but will change the nature of this meeting place dramatically.
Allan, Angus & Iain Macdonald at Celtic Colours. The very best of piping!
Allan, Iain and Dr. Angus MacDonald were born in the tiny Gaelic-speaking township of Glenuig in Moidart. As pipers, Allan and “Dr. Angus” achieved the most competition success, each Highland Society of London Gold Medalists and winners of the Clasp at the Northern Meeting. Iain’s fame has come mainly from his work with folk groups, Ossian, The Battlefield Band and Wolfstone, and production credits for recordings by Julie Fowlis, Dàimh, Kathleen MacInnes and his brother Allan’s recordings with Margaret Stewart.
