Our new Arts Group programme is proving a great success and we have more coming up ,over December and January.
Our Thursday evening singing group, led by Rosie Gillespie will meet up on 7th and 14th December and then start up again after Christmas on Thursday 18th January. Come and join us in Glenuig Hall for our weekly song sessions; the focus is on singing for fun and well-being and everyone is welcome to join in, whatever your age, level of experience or confidence.
In the New Year, we’ll have a few guest tutors to lead some special singing workshops and, after the success of Margaret Ford’s Gaelic song workshop last month, we’re hoping she’ll come again to share more tongue-twisting puirt à beul.
Each Thursday session will start at 7.30pm and will cost only £5 to take part.
WINTER COMMUNITY LUNCHES
The second of our community pot-luck lunches in Glenuig Hall will take place on Saturday 9th December. Come along and meet your neighbours over a relaxed lunch-time, in a nice warm welcoming village hall between 12.30 and 2.30pm. A few seasonal festive treats are likely to be on offer and there will be live music, kindly provided by some of our local young musicians.
This is a free event and tasty hot soup will be provided, as well as tea and coffee, but in the spirit of pot-luck, you might want to bring along a contribution of food to share as well as any refreshments you might like.
In the New Year, the date of our next community lunch is Saturday 13th January.
As part of our Awards for All funded arts programme for Glenuig Hall, we can now announce the dates of two events for early 2024:
Saturday 10th February – A family tea dance with the Great Glen Swing Band
Saturday 23rd March – A pot-luck dinner dance with the Glenfinnan Ceilidh Band
